Climate-resilient facades begin with the complete wall assembly, not a material name alone. Handmade brick slips, clinker brick and handmade brick should be selected with the expected rain, freeze-thaw exposure, salts, solar gain and local building requirements in mind.
Keep water moving away from the wall: use sound flashings, drips, cavity drainage, correctly detailed sills and movement joints. Where a mechanical facade system is used, retain ventilation and drainage paths behind the facing units and inspect the support layout before closure.
Handmade units bring intentional variation, while clinker brick is valued for its dense fired character. For either product, make a representative site panel, blend from multiple pallets and agree a cleaning method that does not harm the selected joint or surface.
For export destinations from Central Europe to the Balkans, Caucasus and Central Asia, ship the approved sample, product data, batch labels and care instructions with the project documentation. Local structural, fire and climatic conditions must always be reviewed by the responsible professionals.
